Abstract:
PURPOSE: To extremely improve the durability in the title transmission by forming a surface layer of metal carbonate or metal nitride on at least one of sliding surfaces of a cam and a follower member.
CONSTITUTION: On the sliding surface of the cam of a locker arm 3 to a cam nose part 2a, there is formed a surface layer 4 of metal carbonate or metal nitride. Thus, with the excellent wear resistance of the surface layer 4, wear is reduced in a severe condition, thereby extremely improving the durability.
