Title:
TRANSMITTER, RECEIVER AND METHOD THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3950539
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To encode a symbol by a code applied to a different alphabet by providing a labeling means for allocating the respective symbols of a first alphabet to secondary digital data belonging to a second alphabet provided with the Q pieces of the symbols more than P and an encoding means for deciding redundant data belonging to the second alphabet.
SOLUTION: The labeling means 202 is composed of an arithmetic processor and a memory and receives transmission object digital data items belonging to the alphabet provided with the P pieces of the symbols (64 pieces). Also, the encoding means 203 for mapping the respective digital data items of a transmission object to one of the Q pieces of the encoding object symbols (Q>P) is composed of an encoder, receives encoding object symbols provided with the Q pieces (Q kinds) of the symbols and supplies redundant symbols provided with the Q pieces of the symbols to a preliminary selection means. Thus, the correction of errors for adversely affecting the encoding object symbols is executed.
