To provide a transparent solid soap composition having excellent foaming property and good transparency and solid properties, leaving extremely small amount of soap component on the skin and free from stiff feeling of the skin.

The transparent solid soap composition contains (A) a fatty acid soap, (B) a polyhydric alcohol and (C) a fatty acid amide amine oxide compound expressed by general formula (1) [R1 is a 5-21C straight-chain or branched alkyl or alkenyl which may be substituted with one or more hydroxy groups; R2 and R3 are each independently a 1-5C alkyl or alkenyl which may contain hydroxy group; and (n) is an integer of 1-5] as essential components.
