Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the optimum drag leading to the reduction of the fuel consumption and the excellent flight at low speed by optimizing the control of the front carnard empennage without atmospheric disturbances in a transport airplane provided with a main plane, elevator aerodynamic surfaces and the front canard empennage located forward of the main plane.
CONSTITUTION: In this transport airplane 1 provided with a main plane, a horizontal empennage provided with a tail stabilizing wing, and the front canard empennage 5 located forward of the main plane provided with a front plane, each front plane is angle-adjustable around the axis C-C in the transverse direction, and fixed to a shaft 7 which is freely supported by a journal bearing 8 integrated with the transport airplane 1. Each shaft 7 is coupled with a shaft 10 to support a crank pin 11 through a coupling 9 to drive the crank pin 11 by an operating member 12. The operating member 12 makes a control to give the calculated set angle to the front plane 5 in a phase of the stabilized flight without atmospheric disturbances based on the center (c) of the transport airplane 1 and the measured value of a mass (m) by a calculating means 14.
