PURPOSE: To enhance the accuracy in feeding bound material for books by furnishing a front and a rear slider reciprocative along rails, equipping the rear one with an upper and a lower pinch plate, and by making adjustable the pinching and releasing positions of the bound material by these pinching plates.

CONSTITUTION: When rear slider 15 is situated in a position shown by the solid line in attached illustration, a lower pinching plate 16 is heaved by a cam 28 and locked at the foremost position of the feeding conveyor 41 to pinch a bound material for book a between the upper pinching plate 17 and itself, and is moved forward by a cam 8 with the aid of a crank 37 and levers 34, 32 to take a position near the final point of the forward path. The front slider 14, on the other hand, is moved forward alike, and a transfer rod 29 is protruded over a table 1 by a vertical operating rod 3 to make contact with the back of the bound material a, and thus the preceding bound material a is transferred. When the two sliders 14, 15 come up to the final point of the forward path, with the abovementioned condition held, the lower pinching plate 16 is released from locking to go down, and the transfer rod 29 sinks together. Thus the sliders 14, 15 return to their original positions via the return path.
