To provide a general type transportation line which has a simple structure and accordingly has a solid configuration, and can inspect workpieces at the position between operational stages.
The transportation line for carrying the workpiece (24) from a first work station (22) to a neighboring second work station (23) comprises a frame (2) having a mounting position (21) for at least one workpiece. The transportation line further comprises a carrying beam (9) having workpiece supports in the range of its respective end portions. The carrying beam (9) is supported to adjust the height of the workpiece supports (15, 16) such that the workpiece supports (15, 16) are positioned between two vertically lifted positions above the mounting position (21). The carrying beam (9) further is configured such that the workpiece supports (15, 16) can longitudinally move in the range between two transportation positions so as to be horizontally flush with the mounting position (21).
