When a CPU 21 receives a shipping request of a baggage, it not only calculates the shipping charge of the baggage in accordance with the size data of the baggage measured by a baggage measuring part 15, but also displays and guides an inquiry image in which the baggage owner is asked about the need or no need of packaging material to pack the baggage on an indicator 14, and when it receives a request for the packaging material when this inquiry is made, it adds charge corresponding to designated packaging material to a slip for shipping and performs issuing processing. When packaging material is further is needed, it automatically calculates and specifies packaging material charges for each size of packaging material to issue a slip for shipping where the outer dimensions of the packaging material and data such as the weight and size of it are written. As a result, it is possible for the baggage owner in place of a clerk to perform the whole baggage receiving jobs of transportation charges and packaging material charges.
