Abstract:
To further improve performance of known drive belts in view of the wear resistance vs the operating efficiency.SOLUTION: The present invention concerns a drive belt for belt- and pulley-type continuously variable transmissions comprising a row of transverse segments 10 mounted on a stack of multiple, mutually laminated rings. The transverse segments 10 are provided with a tilting edge 18 in the form of a convexly curved region of a front face 11 of the transverse segments 10. The tilting edge 18 provides mutual pressure contact between consecutive transverse segments 10 when the transverse segments 10 are in a relatively tilted position. A radially outside range of the tilting edge 18 is at an obtuse angle σ to a surface portion of the body front face 11 next to the radially outside range of the tilting edge 18.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
