Abstract:

To provide a treatment method of water containing a very small amount of a hardly decomposable harmful substance capable of simultaneously removing 1, 4-dioxane and dioxins in a short reaction time.

Hydrogen peroxide or ozone or hydrogen peroxide and ozone are supplied to a reaction column 54, into which a liquid to be treated is introduced, under the irradiation with ultraviolet rays due to an ultraviolet lamp 59, and ozone and nitrogen being an inert gas are further alternately supplied to accelerate photochemical decomposition due to hydroxy radicals formed in the reaction column 54 while degassing dissolved oxygen in the liquid to be treated and ozone. By this method, a reaction time is shortened and 1, 4-dioxane and dioxins are removed simultaneously.
