PURPOSE: To provide a new method for treating steel-refined slag in a vessel which can execute wet-type granulation of the slag without any danger of explosion, and a new device for this treatment.
CONSTITUTION: The slag is made to flow out from a tap hole 10 arranged at the bottom of the vessel 12 and the flow rate of this slag is measured by always detecting the wt. of the vessel. The jet water flow having more than the water for granulation adjusting this flow rate as the function of slag flow rate is spouted against the slag stream flowed out from the vessel 12. This adjusting device is attached to the vessel 12 for incorporating the slag. In this vessel, a weighing means, the tap hole 10, a device 18 for shutting off the tap hole 10, a means for operating the shut-off means positioned between the working position and a staying position apart from the tap hole 10 and a device for opening the tap hole and engaging through the tap hole 10 to start the flow of the slag are provided.
