Abstract:

To provide a trehalose receptor in a mammal, and to provide a method for detecting the trehalose, by which the trehalose in a specimen can directly and easily be detected with the trehalose receptor without needing an extraction purification process and a process for producing a derivative.

This mammalian trehalose receptor comprises a protein having a specific amino acid sequence. The method for detecting the trehalose comprises detecting the inflow of calcium ion in an animal cell in which the trehalose receptor is artificially expressed.
