Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an inert gas blowing device improving the working efficiency of casting.
CONSTITUTION: A passage for molten metal arranged between a sprue plate 4 and an upper stoke 12, is formed between a die 1 and a furnace. This device is constituted with an inert gas blowing plate 8 in the outer peripheral part and a silicon nitride ceramic 9 in the inner peripheral part. These two parts are joined as the plate-like body and one line of groove is formed at the joined part of one side of the plane surface. An inert gas blowing hole 7 communicated with this groove and plural sharrow grooves are formed to the inert gas blowing plate 8 and the other plane surface of the silicon nitride ceramic 9 as radiating state, respectively. The plate-like body having such a constitution, is arranged in the upper stoke 12 and the inert gas blowing hole having almost 0.1mm height and a few mm width is formed on the passage surface of the molten metal at the inner peripheral surface. As the inner peripheral surface in this device is constituted with the silicon nitride ceramic 9, the durability is high and the solidification of the molten metal at the opening hole part is difficult to develop.
