Title:
TRIMMING METHOD OF SHELL CORE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5533820
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To trim efficiently without damaging the core surface, by causing the shots of specified size made of Fe, Al and other metal to drop naturally in parallel form like raindrops, and disposing the shell core of sand mold having horizontal split surface, using resin as binder, in the specified distance from the shop dropping position.

CONSTITUTION: A shell core 1 of sand mold, using resin as binder, of the shell mold method or hot box method is transferred on a belt conveyor 2. At this time, metal shots 5 of Fe, Al, etc. of 0.3 to 2mm size are caused to drop naturally almost in parallel form like raindrops from a shot hopper 4 having a screen 3 with 200 to 600mm drop head H. In the lower dropping range of these shots 5, the core 1 is sent in, and the conveyor 2 is stopped for several seconds in this position, and fins occurring on the split surface of the core 1 are removed.
