Abstract:
PURPOSE: To facilitate trouble return by preventing the simultaneous trouble of a strain gauge and to detect the trouble of a load cell during use by bonding strain gauges to respective strain generating parts at a plurality of different positions and alternately sampling the output of an inspecting strain gauge and that of a measuring strain gauge to the same load to compare them.
CONSTITUTION: Strain generating parts 12a-12e are provided to a Robeval strain generating elastomer 12 and the thickness of the strain generating part 12e is set to 1/3 that of each of the strain generating parts 12a-12d. Strain gauges 14a-14d are bonded to the strain generating parts 12a-12d to constitute a measuring bridge circuit 18 and strain gauges 6a-6d are bonded to the strain generating part 6e to constitute an inspecting bridge circuit 20. The circuit 8 having the thick-walled strain generating parts is hard to receive permanent strain or corrosion and has no possibility developing trouble simultaneously with the circuit 20. The outputs of the circuits 18, 20 are alternately sampled by changing over switches 26, 28 to be converted to digital values by an A/D converter 34 and the digital values are multiplied by a coefficient by a CPU 36 to arrange the magnitudes of the outputs. When a difference is generated between the outputs of the circuits 18, 20, an alarm is emitted and only the circuit 18 is operated to temporarily achieve trouble return.
