PURPOSE: To control the inside of a bulb to have an optimum halogen quantity at all times, by installing a halogen control metal comprising tantalum, etc., in an exhaust tube of a tungsten halogen lamp having plural tungsten filaments each different in evaporating speed.
CONSTITUTION: Main and auxiliary tungsten filaments 4a and 4b each different in evaporating speed are inset inside a bulb 1 sealed in with halogen inside and comprising quartz glass while a tungsten spring 7 and a control metal-make spring 8 comprising tantalum or zircon are fitly inserted into the inside of its exhaust tube 6, then one end of the spring 8 is inset into an interspace of the bulb 1 and a tungsten halogen lamp available for automobiles is thus formed up. Therefore, when the filament 4a being large in evaporating speed is lighted, the quantity of halogen inside the bulb 1 is made to increase in quantity as well as when the filament 4b, in turn, is lighted, the halogen can be reduced in quantity, so that the optimum quantity of halogen is always maintained and those of blackening and shorter service life can be all prevented.
