Title:
TUNGSTEN-HEAVY METAL ALLOY FOR TOOL USED FOR THERMAL DEFORMATION OF COPPER AND COPPER ALLOY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002241885
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
To provide a tungsten-heavy metal alloy which has excellent durability, and is used for tools such as tools for extrusion molding and pins for extrusion molding thermally deforming copper and copper alloys.
The alloy has a composition consisting of, by weight, 80 to 89.9% tungsten and 2 to 7% chromium, and the balance bond metal. As the bond metal, e.g. nickel and iron are utilizable. This alloy is produced by using a powder metallurgy method in particular. When this alloy is used, the generation of grooved marks onto the surface of a deforming tool can remarkably be reduced in particular, and the interval of the correction of the tool and its service life can be extended.
