Abstract:
To provide a magnesium based hydrogen storage alloy which can occlude and release hydrogen on an ordinary temperature level.
The hydrogen storage alloy has a composition expressed by MgXaVb (a and b satisfy 0.2≤a≤5, and 0.2≤b≤5; and X is one or more kinds of metals selected from the group consisting of Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Cu and Ni), and has a body-centered cubic lattice structure. The body-centered cubic lattice structure lies in a non-equilibrium state, and occluded hydrogen and the alloy do not firmly bonded, so that the occlusion and release of hydrogen on an ordinary temperature level are made possible.
