To provide a turbine type mass flowmeter capable of protecting a spring for detecting a torque difference between front and rear impellers from an excessive load even if a spring for connecting the front and rear impellers is designed to have a small spring constant.
This mass flowmeter comprises the upstream impeller 7 rotatably supported around the flowing directional axis of a flow tube 2, the downstream impeller 8 differed in the torque received from the flow of a measuring fluid from the upstream impeller 7, and the coil spring 11 for connecting the upstream impeller 7 to the downstream impeller 8. This flowmeter further comprises a phase angle different limiting mechanism for limiting the relative phase angle difference of the downstream impeller 8 to the upstream impeller 7, which is caused by the difference in the torque received from the measuring fluid between the impellers 7 and 8, to a predetermined angle.
