Abstract:

To provide a turbo refrigerator having improved efficiency by minimizing a working period for a hot gas bypass to be used when avoiding surging.

When the flow amount of refrigerant to be sucked into a turbo compressor is reduced down to be less than a surge control line L2 where surging may occur in the turbo compressor, the opening of an inlet vane is fixed as a minimum value and a hot gas bypass valve is opened so that the minimum value for the opening of the inlet vane is changed in accordance with the compression ratio of the turbo compressor.
