PURPOSE: To prevent a tuyere remaining in a furnace wall from propagating crack, to stably maintain blowing direction of combustion assist gas, to reduce heat loss during operation, to improve secondary ratio and to prevent local erosion in the furnace wall by using a tuyere, which does not need cooling compared with the conventional metallic tuyere, and cutting down the tuyere at joined part, notched part or groove-formed part at the time of receiving dropping shock of charging material by projecting tip part of the tuyere in the furnace caused by erosion of the furnace wall.
CONSTITUTION: The ceramics-made tuyere used to a cylindrical furnace for producing pig iron from scrap or scrap and iron ore, e.g. having structure, in which plural short ceramic pipes 40-1 to 40-n are connected and these outer peripheries are coated with thin metallic pipe 41 or plural notched parts or grooves are formed on outer periphery of ceramic single pipe, is provided.
