Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently pick up a nonlinear ultrasonic image by utilizing the difference between the signal practically multiplied with the echo reception signal based on the ultrasonic wave transmitted at the second intensity by (k) and the echo reception signal based on the ultrasonic wave transmitted at the first intensity.
SOLUTION: A transmission/reception section 2 drives an ultrasonic probe 1 with the transmission signal having the prescribed fundamental frequency and extracts the second harmonic component. The ultrasonic wave having the first intensity and the ultrasonic wave having the second intensity which is 1/k times the first intensity are transmitted in turn to an object, and the echoes based on the ultrasonic waves transmitted at each intensity are received. The echo from a nonlinear echo source is extracted without using a filter by utilizing the difference signal between the signal multiplied with the echo reception signal based on the ultrasonic wave transmitted at the second intensity by (k) and the echo reception signal based on the ultrasonic wave transmitted at the first intensity.
