Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent mounting in a wrong direction of an ultrasonic transducer which has a circular vibration face and whose directional characteristics differ between the horizontal direction and the vertical direction.
SOLUTION: The ultrasonic transducer has a housing 11 to the inside of which a piezoelectric element 12 is fixed. An inner space 13 is provided in the housing 11. Directional characteristics differ between the horizontal direction and the vertical direction by forming the inner space 13 with its horizontal and vertical sizes different from each other. In this case, a vibration surface 11a is circular and flat parts 17 are formed on both sides of the housing 11. The horizontal direction and the vertical direction of the ultrasonic transducer can be distinguished by the flat parts 17.
