Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ultrasonic welding method capable of improving the joining strength of metallic foil to a metallic member.
SOLUTION: The ultrasonic welding method is such that a ultrasonic wave is applied to a metallic foil 2 laminated on a metallic member 1 by abutting a ultrasonic horn so that the foil 2 is welded to the member 1 by solid phase diffusion welding. In this case, a metallic plate 3 is placed on the welding position 4 of the metallic foil 2, with the ultrasonic wave applied through the metallic plate 3, so that the foil 2 and the plate 3 are integrally welded to the metallic member 1 in the solid phase diffusion welding. One end 3a of the plate 3 is placed on the welding position 4 of the foil 2 while the other end 3b, enclosing the end of the foil 2, is arranged between the foil 2 and the member 1. The ultrasonic wave is applied through the end 3a placed on the welding position 4. Incidentally, the metallic foil 2 is constituted of plural pieces of foil.
