PURPOSE: To remove jammed paper without stopping an ultraviolet light irradiation or prevent the ignition of the paper by stopping an ultraviolet light irradiation by a method wherein a transport means for transporting paper printed with ultraviolet-curing ink to a fixing device is provided, and the upper part thereof is opened, or alternatively an ultraviolet light irradiation is stopped when paper jamming is detected by paper detection means.

CONSTITUTION: A paper transport means 3 for transporting printed paper is provided separately from a stencil printing press 2, and thereon an ultraviolet light emitting means 4 is provided. The transport means 3 is made up of a conveyor and opened at the upper or side part thereof between the printing press 2 and the emitting means 4. In addition, the dimension of the emitting means 4 in a paper feed direction is determined to be not longer than a long side of a JIS-A4. In this manner, if sheets of paper of a size more than the dimension is jammed in the emitting means 4, it can be easily removed without stopping the emitting means 4. Alternatively, paper detection means are provided on the upstream and downstream sides of the emitting means 4. The emitting means is so constructed as to be stopped by a control means if these means are not actuated as predetermined.
