Abstract:
PURPOSE: To restore the adsorptivity of an adsorbent bed by arranging a catalyst bed consisting essentially of platinum oxide and an oxide ceramic and a UV source in a purification tank and connecting a tank for generating hot water at a specified temp. to the purification tank.
CONSTITUTION: This water purifier is provided with a purification tank 5 contg. an adsorbent bed 5b consisting of activated carbon, etc. The catalyst bed 5b consisting essentially of platinum oxide and an oxide ceramic and a UV lamp 5c are arranged in the tank 5, and a tank 11 for generating hot water at a specified temp. is connected to the tank 5. The lamp 5c is lit when water supply is stopped, hot water is introduced into the tank 5 from the tank 11, hence the hypochlorite and org. chlorine compd. adsorbed in the bed 5b are dissolved into the hot water, brought into contact with the catalyst bed 5. and decomposed by the photocatalysis due to UV, and the adsorptivity of the adsorbent is restored.
