Abstract:

To provide a method for inhibiting TLESR (transient lower esophageal sphincter relaxation).

The use of a metabolic-type glutamic acid receptor 5 antagonist for inhibiting transient lower esophageal sphincter relaxation is provided. The use of the metabolic-type glutamic acid receptor 5 antagonist for treating GERD (gastro-esophageal reflux disease) and for treating regurgitation and asthma is also provided.
