Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum circuit breaker which has both a reignition characteristic and a braking characteristic.
SOLUTION: A contact of the vacuum circuit breaker is formed of a Cu-Cr contact alloy containing an arc-resistant composition consisting of Cr with mean grain size of 0.1-150 μm and a conductive composition consisting of 10-85 wt.% Cu. The Cu matrix in the alloy consists of an acid-soluble Cu composition which is a Cu composition dissolved in an acid solution, and an acid non-soluble Cu composition which is a Cu composition not dissolved in an acid solution, and the quantity of the acid non-soluble Cu composition is 10-1,000 ppm. The reignition characteristic and the braking characteristic are compatibly realized thereby.
