To provide a vacuum cleaner to be developed in a short period, mounting a control system to be developed in a short period regardless of a difference in a method for starting a cleaner with a different technique regulation.
The vacuum cleaner is equipped with: an electric blower 1 for sucking dust and dirt; an electric blower control means 2 for controlling the electric blower 1; and an electric blower starting means 4 for selecting the starting method of the electric blower 1. When the use of the vacuum cleaner is started, a signal indicating whether a start is performed with a low input or a high input is outputted from the electric blower starting means 4 to the electric blower control means 2. Consequently, a region or country for the usage of the vacuum cleaner can be determined when the usage of the vacuum cleaner is started, and the start of the electric blower 1 and a motor 6 can be controlled (slow start or high start) in response to the usage area.
