To provide a vacuum cleaner for discharging dust collected within a dust collector along with dust attached to a filter of the dust collector while suppressing stirring up.
A cleaner body 2 includes an insertion projection 9. The attachable/detachable dust collector 21 is provided in the storage chamber 2a of the body 2 and includes a dust collecting container body 22, a dust collecting container lid 33, a movable filter 51, and an urging body 71. The container body 22 includes: a suction opening 23; an air flow outlet 25 from which an air flow sucked from the opening flows out; and a dust discarding opening 27 opened and closed by the lid 33. A stopper part 29 is formed on the inner surface of the container body 22. The filter 51 is provided movably within the container body 22 over a first position for covering the air flow outlet 25 from an upstream side and a second position colliding with the stopper part. The urging body 71 urges the filter 51 toward the second position. The insertion projection 9 is inserted into the dust collector 21 arranged in the storage chamber 2a, and the inserted insertion projection 9 restricts the filter 51 to the first position, so that the restraint can be released following slipping out of the insertion projection 9 from the dust collector 21.
