Abstract:
To provide a valve system for an internal combustion engine capable of mounting a storage means without degrading assemblability.
This valve system comprises a variable valve control mechanism for controlling the switching statuses of a main intake valve and a sub intake valve and an accumulator 45 for storing the pressurized oil supplied to the variable valve control mechanism. The main body 51 of the accumulator 45 is fixed at a cylinder head 1, and the length of a clearance S1 between the top of the main body 51 and a flat plate 63 is made smaller than a length S2 of a threaded portion 56 of the main body 51, thus facilitating maintenance work such as replacement of the accumulator 45 and preventing generation of coming-off.
