Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve opening/closing timing controller at a lower cost.
SOLUTION: This controller, which has plural fluid pressure chambers R0, R01 formed between a rotation transmitting member (an external rotor 30) integrated with a timing pulley 60 and a shaft (an internal rotor 20) and divided into advancing oil chambers R1 and lagging oil chamber R2 with plural vanes 70 and a fluid oil supply/discharge means (a switch valve) to selectively supply/ discharge fluid into/from the advancing chambers R1 and the lagging chambers R2, is used to control the opening/closing timing of an intake valve or an exhaust valve for an internal combustion engine. The quantity of relative rotation between the shaft and the rotation transmitting member can be restricted by putting one of plural vanes in contact with mutually opposed end faces 31a, 31b in the rotating direction of a pair of protrusions 31 which define the R01 out of plural fluid pressure chambers in the rotating direction.
