Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which a ribonucleic acid is more readily, rapidly and safely extracted from a sample containing the acid compared to a conventional method.
SOLUTION: A neutral solution containing a chaotropic material, and a solid carrier bondable to a nucleic acid are added to and mixed with a sample containing a ribonucleic acid to allow the acid to be adsorbed on the carrier and, if necessary, the adsorbed carrier is washed with a solution containing the chaotropic material. The carrier with the adsorbed ribonucleic acid is washed with a cleaning liquid comprising water or a low salt-concentration buffer, and at last brought into contact with an eluent comprising water or a low salt-concentration buffer and heated to elute the ribonucleic acid from the carrier to the eluent.
