PURPOSE: To increase the opening area of a bypass hole without concern for the damage of each seal member by providing plural seal members along a spiral body in such a manner as being located at intervals in respective positions that correspond to the bypass hole.

CONSTITUTION: A variable capacity scroll compressor is formed by combination of a movable scroll member 16 to a fixed scroll member 7 and a plurality of fluid pockets 20 are formed between the respective spiral bodies 18, 19 of the scroll members 16, 7. To seal each of the fluid pockets 20, each spiral body 9, 18 is provided with a sealing device 21, 22. In this case, the sealing device 22 with which the spiral body 18 is provided comprises three seal members 22-1 to 22-3 each of which is disposed along the second spiral body 18. The seal members 22-1 to 22-3 are disposed separate from one another. A fluid bypass hole 24 is provided in a position which coincides with the interval between the seal members 22-1 and 22-2 during operation of the compressor and a fluid bypass hole 25 is provided in a position which coincides with the interval between the seal members 22-2, 22-3.
