Abstract:

PURPOSE: To permit damping characteristics to be varied in such a way as to reduce vibration by a method in which displacing amounts of super- and sub-structures are detected, and the viscosity coefficients of a damper are controlled according to the relative displacements between both super- and sub- structures.
CONSTITUTION: The chamber tube 11 of a piston 8 in a cylinder 4 is connected with a tube 11, and a valve unit 12 with a servo valve using a linear motor for example is set on the tube 11. The first and second sensors 13 and 14 consisting of a displacement meter or an accelerometer are attached to super- and sub-structures 1 and 2 and connected to a valve controller 16 provided for the super-structure 1. The controller 16 is connected to a valve unit 12. The displacement amounts of the structures 1 and 2 are each detected by the first and second sensors 13 and 14, and on the basis of the detected values, the opening degree of the valve unit 12 is controlled to vary the viscosity of the damper.
