PURPOSE: To constitute variable polarizing spectacles by fitting a polarizing lens part pivotally to a holder and fixing it to part of the body such as the head by the holder so as to move the polarizing lens part upward or to a sideward position from a position right in front of the eyes.

CONSTITUTION: The variable polarizing spectacles 1 consists of the polarizing lens part and holder 8, and the polarizing lens part 2 is supported pivotally on the holder 8. The polarizing lens part 2 has a frame 5, a left variable polarizing lens 4 and a right variable polarizing lens 4' are arranged on the left and right sides closely to the eyes when the spectacles are put on, and a fixed polarizing lens 3 is arranged at a position distant from the eyes when the spectacles are put away from the holder in a wearing state so that the lens overlaps with both lenses 4 and 4'. Both lenses 4 and 4' have tooth forms 41 and 41' at their outer peripheries, an idle gear 42 is put in engagement between them and the degree of polarization is adjusted by a polarization degree controller 6 provided on the side of the lens 4.
