To provide a vehicle control device capable of improving stability and a speed reducing property by properly starting specified vehicle behavior control by sufficiently displaying a capacity of a wheel speed detecting means high in precision.
A change-over means (step 114) changes a control start determination value kdV of a control staring condition adopted by a vehicle behavior control starting means (step 116) on the basis of the precision state of the wheel speed detecting means (wheel speed detection device 50) determined by a precision state determination means out of control start determination values (kdV1, kdV2) stored in a control start determination value memory means 41. Consequently, the vehicle behavior control start means (step 116) starts specified vehicle behavior control (ABS control) to the control start determination value kdV corresponding to the precision state of the wheel speed detecting means (wheel speed detection device 50) when a rotating state (wheel acceleration) satisfies a specified related control start condition.
