To provide a vehicle control device capable of appropriately assisting a driver in accordance with a state thereof.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device 14 comprises: an information acquisition section 15 which acquires heart rate information including information on a heart rate of a driver A of a vehicle 11; an operation assistance control section 16 which causes the vehicle 11 to execute drive operation assistance when the heart rate obtained from the heart rate information is equal to or higher than a first threshold; and a communication section 17 which communicates with an external contact 18 to notify that the heart rate is abnormally high when the heart rate obtained from the heart rate information is equal to or higher than a second threshold which is larger than the first threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
