To provide a vehicle controller which can compensate for a supply oil pressure shortage of hydraulic fluid in a hydraulic actuator and operate it in a suitable mode in a vehicle equipped with the hydraulic actuator operated based on a pressure of the hydraulic fluid supplied from an engine drive type oil pump, and a continuously variable transmission capable of continuously changing a speed-change ratio.

The vehicle comprises an engine drive type oil pump 21 driven based on a rotation of output shaft 11 of internal combustion engine 10, a valve timing changing device 14 operated based on a supply oil pressure from the oil pump 21, and a continuously variable transmission 30 capable of continuously changing the speed-change ratio. Furthermore, an electronic control device 50 sets the speed-change ratio of the continuously variable transmission 30 based on vehicle operating condition. Additionally, the electronic control device 50 changes the speed-change ratio set based on the vehicle operating condition so that an engine revolving speed NE may be raised when the supply oil pressure supplied from the oil pump 21 to the valve timing changing device 14 is low.
