Abstract:

PURPOSE: To perform such control as conformed to a road state without resting on a high-performance sensor or the like by receiving a road information signal, determining an optimum kinetic characteristic for traveling, and controlling it so as to become the characteristic at time of arrival at the spot, in a kinetic characteristic control over a vehicle.

CONSTITUTION: When there is a step difference 16 ahead in the traveling direction of a vehicle 15 by way of example, a road information transmitter 5 set up on a road outputs information on distance of up to the step difference 16 and its height or the like. This information is received by a receiver of a vehicle controller mounted on the vehicle 15, performing the specified operation, and an optimum spring constant for riding over the step difference 16 is determined, outputting it to a suspension. With this command, this suspension makes the spring constant smaller to some extent before the vehicle 15 arrives at the step difference. When it rides over the step difference 16, the spring constant of the suspension is restored. With this constitution, such control as suitable for a road state can be done without using any high-performance sensor or the like.
