Abstract:
A vehicle driving assistance system, according to the present invention, comprises: a detection unit (6a) that detects the presence of a first vehicle (A) trying to merge into a far lane of an intersecting street; an acquisition unit (6f) that acquires blind spot information pertaining to the blind spot, when the detection unit has detected the presence of the first vehicle and when there is a blind spot as seen from the first vehicle up to the position at which the first vehicle will merge with the far lane; a safety assessment unit (6b) that assesses, on the basis of the blind spot information, whether the first vehicle will be capable of safely merging with the far lane; and a provision unit (6c) for providing the assessment results produced by the safety assessment unit to the first vehicle.
