Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect heat release from a current flowing through a power MOS- FET by detecting the temperature change of a thermoelectric device which is built in a power MOS-FET by measuring a voltage change, and to adjust gate drive signals to a constant value by on/off controlling the gate drive signals of the power MOS-FET, after the voltage of the thermoelectric device becomes stable.
SOLUTION: A power MOS-FET is connected to a power supply B, in series together with a load L to turn a power source on or off for the load L. A thermoelectric element D, whose voltage is decreased by heat released from the power MOS-FET when it is energized, is built in the power MOS-FET, a control means COT for on/off controlling the gate drive signals of the MOS- FET on, on the basis of a voltage reduction in the thermoelectric element D is provided, and the gate drive signals are made constant after the voltage gets stable.
