PURPOSE: To inform the current position of a vehicle to a driver by processing position information sent from the on-road equipment and converting the information into page number, area and/or coordinate in a specific map.
CONSTITUTION: A data sent from an on-road beacon in radio is demodulated by an on-vehicle receiver 12. A position data is selected from the received data and the data is converted by using a data table provided in a read only memory(ROM) 7 to obtain the page number and the area coordinate of a specific map. Moreover, since the driving direction and the driving distance from a communication installation are calculated by a signal representing a range finder and a direction finder, they are displayed on a display device. Thus, the position of its own vehicle is informed easily to the driver.
