To provide a vehicle interior article that makes it possible to favorably arrange individual components inside a vehicle.SOLUTION: An armrest 2 of a door lining 1 (vehicle interior article) is provided with: a skin material 30 (cover material); a printing layer 40 that is arranged on a rear surface side of the skin material; a light emission body 50 that is arranged on the rear surface side of the skin material and the printing layer and displays a printing surface 40a on a front surface of the skin material; a proximity sensor 60 that is arranged on the rear surface side of the skin material and detects the approach of an object to be detected; a control unit 90 that controls the light emission body on the basis of a detected signal from the proximity sensor; and a switch device 70 (pressing switch 73 that is arranged on the rear surface side of the skin material and detects pressing from the skin material side. The control unit 90 controls the light emission body 50 to emit light in a state in which the proximity sensor 60 has detected the object to be detected. The proximity sensor 60 is arranged closer to the rear surface side than the skin material 30 and is arranged closer to the front surface side than the switch device 70 and the light emission body 50.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
