To provide an on-vehicle motor-driven compressor capable of meeting a plurality of requirements including the protection of an inverter board and the suppression of electromagnetic noises, vibration and noises.
A cover 20B for covering the opening of a housing 11 of the motor driven compressor is formed with a conductive material layer 21 formed of a conductive material and an insulating material layer 22 formed of an insulating material. The conductive material layer 21 of the cover 20B prevents the leakage of electromagnetic noises emitted from the inverter board 12 to the outside of the housing 11. The insulating material layer 22 is provided inward of the housing 11 for insulating the inverter board 12 subjected to high voltage from the conductive material layer 21 of the cover 20B, resulting in the reduced size of the motor-driven compressor. The insulating material layer 22 suppresses the vibration of the conductive material layer 21 and reduces the vibration and noises of the motor-driven compressor.
