Abstract:
To provide a method used for navigation of a vehicle in an environment.SOLUTION: In one or more electronic processing devices, a method includes steps of: acquiring 100, from a distance sensor mounted on a vehicle, distance data indicating a distance between the distance sensor and a detection part of an environment while the vehicle crosses the environment; generating 110 mapping data indicating a three-dimensional map of the environment and location data indicating one or more distance sensor locations in the environment by analyzing the distance data; identifying 120 a field of view cutoff part of the environment using the mapping data and the location data; generating 130 a virtual surface based on the field of view cutoff part of the environment; and calculating 140 a path for which navigation in the environment is possible using at least part of the virtual surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
