Abstract:
To provide a vehicle surrounding monitoring device capable of recognizing whether or not an object is a four-legged animal with high accuracy.
By the vehicle surrounding monitoring device, it is determined that the object corresponds to the four-legged animal on condition that closed elements and open elements are extracted in different time from an object area as an area where the object extracted from a pick up image exists. In addition, it is determined that the object corresponds to the four-legged animal on condition that the closed elements are intermittently extracted from the object area.
