To allow a turing range of a steering tube to be enlarged by eliminating turning losses on vehicle collision.
The vehicle steering device includes a turning support mechanism 50 for journaling a steering tube 11 to be turnable, a locking mechanism for locking the steering tube 11 at an optional turning position, and a stopper mechanism 37 for regulating the turning range of the steering tube 11. The stopper mechanism 37 includes bent pieces 41a and 42a formed by partially cutting first plates 41 and 42 to bend them to the rotary axis side of a steering shaft 12, and a stopper member 36 disposed in a distance bracket 30 at a position to abut on the bent pieces 41a and 42a. In order to permit the turning of the steering tube 11 when shock loads are applied to the bent pieces 41a and 42a via the stopper member 36, notches 41b and 42b are provided to bend and break the bent pieces 41a and 42a.
