Abstract:
To provide a vehicle surroundings monitoring system capable of calculating an extent of dangerousness which corresponds to actual driving conditions.
The vehicle surroundings monitoring system comprises a processing ECU 30 which calculates a rank of dangerousness of an obstacle based on a relative position and a relative speed of the obstacle and the vehicle which have been detected from an output result of a scanning radars 10a and 10b that detects an obstacle around the vehicle and an image from front lateral cameras 20a and 20b, and compensates for the rank of dangerousness from dangerousness compensating information such as information on differences in brightness of the obstacle and its surroundings.
