Sprinkling nozzles 7 are lowered to the height nearly equal to the height of the upper side contour of a vehicle for the high-pressure rinsing work, and the sprinkling nozzles 7 are guided along the upper side contour during the rinsing work. A high-pressure pump is operated after the height of the sprinkling nozzles 7 is adjusted, the vehicle and sprinkling nozzles 6, 7 are relatively moved, and the sprinkling nozzles 7 are adjusted in height along the contour of the vehicle to rinse the vehicle. In the rinsing work, all coarse stains are satisfactorily rinsed off from the surface of the vehicle, including a normal-height passenger car and a relatively high vehicle in height.
