To provide a vehicular control device capable of enhancing the safety of a vehicle when starting the pre-crash brake control during the adaptive cruise control.
When the adaptive cruise control is performed, and the self vehicle travels following a preceding vehicle, the ACC target acceleration for maintaining the preset vehicle-to-vehicle distance is calculated. Further, when the pre-crash brake control is started, the PCSB target acceleration for decelerate the self vehicle is calculated. When both the ACC target acceleration and the PCSB target acceleration are calculated, these target accelerations are added to calculate the final target acceleration. A brake actuator 6 or the like is controlled so that the self vehicle is decelerated at the target acceleration. Thus, occurrence of any status that the braking force is weakened as the pre-crash brake control is started can be reliably prevented.
